Profound

Life changes so fast its scary. I sometimes still have to spin my totem to make sure this is my life and not actually just a dream. Watched the Grand Prix on telly and reminisced about when I was there, right on the track, where I could smell the rubber burning and touch Jenson Button's ass at the press conference....*sigh*. Princess Charlene had such a forced smile and was probably contemplating her next escape plan (yes I know its suppose to be about the cars but being a girl I notice these things!) Must say that I am slightly disappointed with the winner, would have been happier with Vettel or Hamilton - only because they're cute of course.

Basilica SS. Annunziata del Vastato
I have been employed for over a month now and it gets more and more interesting everyday. Went for a walk around Genova (my new home town for the next 5 or so months), with James Musk – possibly the most curiously interesting people I have met in my life – one of those dumb/smart people with too much logic and general knowledge. I really would like to live inside his brain for one day. We were standing in the Basilica SS. Annunziata del Vastato, one of the most breathtakingly beautiful churches in Genova, lighting a candle. There was some silent contemplation going on as we stood in awe of the history and beauty seeping out of the walls and then I James says: "C25H25" and I was like ""huh?" and again he says "C25H25, the chemical make-up of candle wax." It was quite a profound moment.

We explored some more of Genova, got kicked out of a palace, I got lost down  “whore” (via Magdalina) street after James left and it gave me slight heart palpitations and not in a good way. Genova has this weird thing where its extremely ugly but incredibly beautiful at the same time. The cathedrals, piazza’s, parks and monuments are all amazing but the immigrants and streets all look like they need a good scrubbing. We had a meal that was overpriced and under cooked and an ice-cream from Grom that made up for it. Im still not sure about Genova or the boat and its people but I guess time will tell all its secrets. Peace.
